I am looking for information about my husband's family.  All we know is that his great grandfather was a sheriff  in a small town in Missouri.
His grandfather left home at thirteen when his father remarried.  John's father was Irwin Orville Claxton, his brother was Oral Clarence.
They grew up around El Dorado Kansas.  I'm wondering if there is a connection to this branch of Claxtons,  would love to hear.  John's
grandmother was Mabel Ward Claxton.

Thank you so much for information found on Haywood County websites. My grandmother Marie Frances Barden Key Rogers
was from Dancyville as was my mother Mary Ella Key. I am having trouble with the Carneys and the Britts. Marie married
Charles B. Key. His father was William P. Key and his mother was Ella Carney. I have info on the Keys but nothing on Ella.
I also need information on Marie's mother Mary Jeanette Britt(Mollie) who married John Thomas Barden. Any help would be
greatly appreciated. I have a 1933 picture of the Dancyville PTA and my grandmother named each lady. I will be glad to share.
I also have pictures of the Bardens and their 11 children and a picture of William P. Key and Charles B. Key of Haywood County.

Joshua and Temperance Hughes on the 1860 Shelby County census are 4 houses down from James,
age 35, and Ruth, 24, with 4 sons, one of which I believe is my gr-gr-grandfather, Joshua Marcus Hughes.
Does anyone have any information to help identify these neighbors of Joshua and Temperance?  Many thanks.

I had orginally sent in a request for assistance back in June of 2003, regarding my Grandfather Louis Dancy.
I have since found out some information that was written in my Grandmothers (Margaret Miller Dancy) Family Bible.
John Coleman Dancy married Ella Chaney on August 23, 1903. Two children: Louis Chaney Dancy (my Grandfather)
DOB, Sept 24, 1904. John Edward Claxton Dancy DOB, Nov 8, 1906. There is also a Memoranda for
Lillie Belle Chaney DOB, Oct 12, 1869; died Feb 2, 1923.
If any names are familiar to anyone please let me know. Thanks for the great Web site! Lisa Crane Chaudhry

Hi James,  I just found that I am a descendant of Joshua Hughes, through William J. Hughes, and his daughter
Fannie (Mary Francis) Hughes McGaughey.  And I found the Dancyville Site.  I have not been able to find an
email address for Mary Kay Dancy Smith or Jimmie Dancy.  I attempted to sign the guest book and that didn't
work either.  Can you help me make contacts with my new cousins.  Thanks.

Looking up background of John H. McCraney and came across your site. I appreciate all the hard work. Anyone should have information on John H. McCraney, born around 1844 I would appreciate the help. He fought in Civil War and was held prisoner by the Union but survived. I'm attempting to find where he is buried.
