Having read the information submitted re George11 HULLINGER born 1811 in
Pennsylvania, married to Elisabeth GALLOWAY I wondered if their son Joseph
is the Joseph HOLLINGER for whom I am searching ?
My great great grandfather was Joseph HOLLINGER born in 1841 in
Philadelphia. He left the USA in the 1860's - 1870's and travelled the
world, eventually marrying a Prussian woman called Anna KREUTZBERG.
They produced 3 children who were brought up in the south of England
UK,although Joseph continued to travel abroad with a circus as he was a
trainer of wild animals.
He used the surname of LEDGER instead of HOLLINGER,the reason for that is
unknown.
When he died in 1898 his age was given as 57 years.
Could this be my ancestor Joseph ? He apparently served with the 27th.
Pennsylvania Regiment.
I would be interested to hear your comments.......I see that there is no
date of death for Joseph HULLINGER.....
My Joseph was an African American ...can anybody help ?
