Reineke

This page was originally named for the SCHMIDT family of Romford, Essex, but a recent discovery has proven that this was an alias and they were in fact the BOOTES family living under an assumed name. I have since renamed the page to trace the family of Maria SCHMIDT, née REINEKE, whose family in The Netherlands supported the SCHMIDT / BOOTES family in England. After nearly 85 years, three out of four branches of the family, once divided after an unpopular marriage, are now in contact again. The only branch I have not been able to trace was the family of John BOOTES or SCHMIDT, known as John or Jack SMITH, who was living in Shildon, County Durham in 1923.
