Battle of Flodden Field Memorial This monument stands overlooking Branxton Hill (in background) where the battle took place on 9 Sep 1513. Sir David Home and his son Sir George Home were slain during the battle and their bodies were brought off the bloody field by their followers and interred in the family vault in Duns Church.
