"On Apr 24, 1702, he and Jacque Larue, his brother-in-law, purchased from the Indians a large tract of land at 'Old Hook,' now Emerson and Harrington Park, a share of which was confirmed to son Peter and the remainder to Jacque Lerue, Hendrick Lerue, Samuel Lerue and Nicholas LeSueur by deed from Peter Sonmans on June 23, 1727. The family, with the exception of eldest son Peter, removed to Duck Creek Hundred, Kent County, Delaware, where 'John Alley' died in 1718 leaving a Will dated February 19th, proved March 16th of that year."
