UNCONNECTED IBACHS

 

The following Ibachs, found while researching families descended from Ibachs who emigrated from Remscheid, Germany and settled in Eastern Pennsylvania, could not be connected to any specific ancestral line, Remscheid or otherwise.  If anyone has any knowledge about these Ibachs, please email bussdm@earthlink.net.  The information is presented in two sections:

 

    SECTION I consists of two tables, each containing a list of names, along with some comments that might to help identify and connect them.  TABLE 1 contains a list of all persons with the surname Ibach, and TABLE 2 contains a list of Ibach spouses and Ibach descendants with a surname other than Ibach.

 

    SECTION II contains fragmented pedigree block charts of certain names in TABLES 1 and 2 where there is some known relationship within a specific family.  In some cases additional information is provided next to the block charts to help identify and connect them.  The names in these block charts are highlighted in boldface type in TABLES 1 and 2.

John served in the Civil War with the 29th Regiment, Company H, PA  Volunteers.  He enlisted as an Ibach and mustered out as Ibaugh.  He died in Wilmington, DE.
 

In 1851 or 1852, John (age 10) was possibly living in Blocker Township, Philadelphia with the head of household Hannah H(all) (age 57) and possibly her daughter Anna Hall (age 35).  Anna may have been John's mother.  A Mary McCue (b. 1830) and eight other persons with a variety of different names were also living in the same household, possibly in a boarding house.  Anna died in Wilmington, DE in 1873.  Harriet is believed to have had a sister Sophronia Frances Murphy and a brother Charles Francis Murphy.

Oscar Jr. died in WW II at Saarbruchen, Germany.  He was a member of Co. B, 1st Bn,. 359th Regt., 65th Inf. Div.
