A FAMILY HISTORY

24 Apr 2002

INTRODUCTION

Johann Carl (Charles) Friedrich Ibach (2 Aug 1760 - ?) and his descendants have their roots in Germany.  Johann Carl was one of three brothers who with their families left Remscheid, Germany and came to Pennsylvania in 1796.  It is believed that the first known Ibach ancestor of the three families who came to Pennsylvania in 1796 was Peter Ibach, born in Germany in 1369.  However, the generations between Peter and Johann Ibach (c.1600 – 1672), who is the first Ibach known to be an ancestor of Johann Carl Friedrich, have not been confirmed.  Since Johann Ibach (c.1600 - 1672) is the first known confirmed ancestor, this family history begins with him.  The following is a summary of the lineage of Johann Ibach and his descendants down to Johann Carl (Charles) Friedrich Ibach.
