25 July 1851 edition: Notification. Fugitive burgomaster Joseph Ibach of Leiberstung is notified that a bankruptcy procedure has been opened against him. He is admonished to nominate a legal representative, otherwise all notifications to him will only be posted on the public bulletin board.
29 Aug. 1851 edition: Bühl. Clearing of debts. A bankruptcy procedure has been declared against fugitive burgomaster Joseph Ibach of Leiberstung. The clearing date has been set on 7 Oct. 1851 at 8 o'clock a.m. at the Buhl district office. All creditors of Ibach are to file their claims at that date and submit the necessary papers to prove the claims. One will try to arrange a composition, and the absent creditors are assumed to vote as the majority of the present creditors.
9 Jan. 1852 edition:
Bühl. Transfer of a lawsuit to another court. Fugitive former burgo master Jos. Ibach of is charged of the following: To have wrongly claimed, when he was a burgomaster, that the claim of accountant Wittmer in Rastatt to the community of Leiberstung amounting 1000 fl-.was called in, and the Community had to borrow the money elsewhere. He had thus induced a decision of the Leiberstung community council to borrow the amount of 1000 fl. from merchant Wenk in Buhl, to sign a statement of liability on 16 July 1851, in which Ibach and the members of the community council declared personally liable for the amount until the state permission for the mortgage would be granted, and to hand the statement out to the defendant. He has accepted the amount of 1000 fl. by merchant Wenk by proxy of the community of Leiberstung in July 1851 and has escaped with the money.
The case is transferred from the Hofgericht des badischen Mittel rheinkreises to the Schwurgericht des badischen Mittelrheinkreises. The defendant is notified about this.
27 Feb. 1852 edition:
Bruchsal. Notification. In addition to the notification of 23 Dec. 1851, fugitive burgomaster Joseph Ibach of Leiberstung is called to present himself 14 days before the begin of the trial (31 March) before the county office at Bühl.
25 June 1852 edition:
Bruchsal. Court decision. In the trial against Joseph Ibach, former mayor at Leiberstung, parish of Schwarzach, for defraud and embezzlement, it was decided: Joseph Ibach is guilty at have embezzled 1000 florins to the damage of the community of Leiberstung. He is sentenced two years six months penitentiary (or optionally a years and eight months penitentiary in a single room, if he serves his time in the new male penitentiary) and to pay the cost of the investigation and the trial. This is communicated to the fugitive defendant.
16 March 1.853 edition, repeated on 19 March 1853: Bühl. Summons of heirs. Xaver Ibach is summoned to present himself to the conveyance of the property of his mother Barbara Velten, wife of absent Jos. Ibach of Leiberstung. Xaver has been absent for many years, and neither his whereabouts nor his survival are known. He is summoned to present himself within 3 months, otherwise he will be treated as if he had been deceased by the time of the conveyance.

The emigration of Joseph Ibach's wife from Leiberstung, 1852
30.03.1852 Before the Bühl district office appears Scholastika neé Speierer, the wife of fugitive mayor Ibach, and declares she wants to emigrate to America with her family and to sell her lands in an auction because the time of seed is coming. She asks to undertake a bankruptcy procedure and clearing of the debts of her fugitive husband. Decision: The Leiberstung community council is to submit a list of all debts.
12.04.1852 Scholastika Speierer, wife of former burgomeister Josef Ibach, asks for the permission to emigrate to America because she thinks she can find a better living there with her children.
12.04.1852 The Leiberstung community office reports that no mortgages are registered on the name of Josef Ibach's wife.
20.04.1852 An advertisement is to be put into the gazette: The wife of former mayor Josef Ibach of Leiberstung, who has escaped, wants to emigrate to America with her family. All her creditors are to file their claims an Wednesday 5 May 1852, otherwise there will be no official support to collect the claims. - The same is to be announced publicly in the community.
04.05.1852 Teacher Johann Buhlinger of Unzhurst appears before the Bühl district office and claims the payment of 114 fl. plus interest since 1849. Joseph Ibach got into bankruptcy, and not even half of the debts have been paid. The wife may not obtain her passport before she has paid, because she lives in common estate with Ibach.
30.04.1852 The Leiberstung community office reports that the clearing date has been announced to the public.
01.05.1852 A list of debts of Scholastika Speirer to the Leiberstung community, total of 21 fl. 18 Kr.
05.05.1852 At the clearing date of the debts, the following appeared:
1. The wife of teacher Johann Buhlinger of Unzhurst, claiming 114 fl. plus interest by proxy of her husband.
2. Wilhelm Fischer of Leiberstung claiming 44 fl.
3. Clemens Lorenz claiming 50 fl. plus interest.
4. Matheus Friedmann claiming 112 fl.
5. The same claiming 9 fl.
6. The same claiming 4 fl.
7. Joseph Mast of Steinbach claiming 150 fl. plus interest
8. Baptist Droll claiming 100 fl. plus interest.
9. Xaver Walter accountant claiming 28 fl. for the community of Leiberstung.
10.Attorney Gamber of Bühl claiming 31 fl. fee.
Mayor Ibach's wife had come later and declared: I acknowledge the claim of teacher Buhlinger. I contradict the claims of Fischer, Lorenz, Mast and Droll because they just pertain my husband. I may just be obliged to pay the amount which was not included in the bankruptcy of my husband. The claims of Friedmann and Velten only pertain to me partially.
Decision: The wife of escaped mayor Ibach is informed that she is to satisfy her creditors or achieve a legal decision about her duties. When this has been done, the family will obtain a permission to emigrate.
07.05.1852 Moritz Wertheimer claims 311 fl. by proxy of Alexander
forwarded to the publisher of the Badener Wochenblatt.
22.01.1853 The money is forwarded.
31.01.1853 The money is returned to Joseph Ibach's wife.
22.08.1853 Scholastika neé Speierer, wife of fugitive former mayor Josef Ibach, appears before the district office and declares: I have applied for a permission to emigrate last year, which was denied because of my husband's bankruptcy. I want to accomplish the emigration now. Decision: The emigration is to be announced in the public papers. The Leiberstung community office is to submit a listing of the family members and extracts from the mortgage registers.
31.08.1853 Before the Bühl district office appear Josef Ibach's wife and community accountant Wendelin Mroll. The wife has purchased her husband's house in the bankruptcy auction with the obligation to pay 300 fl. to the community. The claim is not registered. Droll asks not to issue an emigration permission before the debts are paid. Mrs. Ibach declares: I acknowledge this claim and the others in the extract from the mortgage register and shall pay them. My children are all under age and have no own property. I ask for an emigration permission. Simon Lang of Stollhofen claims 10 fl. for the exchange of cows.
28.08.1853 The Leiberstung community office report that the names and ages of the children are as follows: 1. Anton aged 20, 2. Loisia18, 3. Ignatz 16, 4. Johann 14, 5. Erhard 12, 6. Albrecht 7. Anselm 6, 8. Valerian 4, 9. Peter Ibach 11/2. Josef Ibach's wife possesses, according to a valuation, 2120 florins property.
22.08.1853 Abstracts from the mortgage registers.
15.09.1853 Josef Ibach's wife appears before the Buhl district office and declares: I shall pay Simon Lang. I ask for the per mission to sell my estates in an auction, as my husband is absent.
Decision: The authorization is granted.
17.10.1853 Mrs. Ibach presents receipts by all creditors. Decision: The passport is to be issued. The community office is to be informed. The emigration is to be registered in the official lists.
11.05.1854 The insertion fee of the Badener Wochenblatt has not yet been paid. The Leiberstung community office is to report if Josef Ibach's wife has left any property.
22.05.1854 The answer that she has taken all property with her and has nothing left to collect.
