        (A Division consisted of about 7,800 to 8000 men)

        Basic Training

        Parachute School, Fort Benning Georgia

1944

    January

        Moved to Camp Polk, LA from Camp Mackall, NC

    April

        Moved to Camp Stoneman, CA

    May

        Left CA for New Guinea

   April

        Arrived in New Guinea

    November

        Moved to Layte Island, Philippines

   December

        First real fighting begins

1945

   January

        Moved to Southern Luzon, Philippines

    February

        Raid on Los Banos Interment Camp, Luzon Philippines

        (Frees 2147 internees and POWs)

    May

        Regrouped and set up base camp on Luzon.

        Landed at Aparri, northern Luzon
