Who Were the Parents of Moses Cummins

This is a mystery because of three unrelated events.  The first was the destruction of the Licking County courthouse by fire in 1840s.  The second was the destruction of the Rockingham, Virginia courthouse in the 1860s and finally the third was the paralysis of Moses Cummins at the end of his life.  All of these events combined to obscure the family tree of Moses Cummins.  As you will see under the Ancestors Discovered page, Moses Cummins married Elizabeth McCracken.

Summary

Nothing, so far, clearly states that Thomas Cummins was Moses Cummins' father, although some assume that this is the relationship.  A possible relationship would be that our Moses Cummins' father was Thomas Cummins who moved from Rockingham County Virginia in the early 1800s.  Thomas' father and brother could also have been named Moses Cummins, so it is difficult to identify in historical records which Moses is which.  There are obviously several Moses Cummins in the  information below and they are probably related.  How? It remains a mystery.
