James BRASSINGTON was born in Belper around 1837 and his father
was also named James. He married Elizabeth RICHARDSON in 1858.
They had at least one child, Hannah. James had remarried by 1866 so
we must conclude that Elizabeth was dead by that time. He had 3 more
children by Eliza STRAW and he himself was dead by the 1881 census.
He was a plumber and glazier and his father was a stone mason. Hannah married
Radcliffe MAWHINNEY in Bolton, Lancashire. They had 11 children, in
and around Manchester and Bolton. They immigrated to Canada in
1905/06. Hannah died in 1925.
