Samuel James White

Samuel and Anna DeGroit Coe were married in the 1890's. Anna later gave birth to Helen White. Anna died when Helen was in infant so Sam left Helen with his parents, Oren Delos and Delaphine White while he traveled west to find work. No one ever heard from Sam again and never found out what happened to him. Helen then was raised by Oren D. and Delaphine as their own and was more like a sister to the White children than a niece.
