APPALACHIAN PIONEERS        



The western side of the Southern Appalachian Mountains was the Western Frontier during the 1700-1830 period of American History. The hardy families that attempted to carve a home out of the wilderness defied British Rule and faced Indian tribes that were not always friendly.
