THE HOLLINGSWORTH REGISTER

VOLUME I., NUMBER 1.

Most of the records presented here were copied by Mr. Robert Hollingsworth, Dublin, Ireland, at the Rathdrum Registry Office, County Wicklow, Ireland. The work was done in the last few weeks of the year 1964. We present the entire series here - Births, Deaths & Roman Catholic Marriges, 1864-1965. We supplement this with a partially complete list of the Protestant marriages which are in another department. These also were partly collected by Mr. Robert Hollingsworth. The rest were obtained in full certificates from the Custom House (Cifig an Ard Chlaraitheora), Dublin, where all of these records are also on file, and for all of Ireland. The Protestant Marriages begin in 1845. Since they require the name of the father and the bride, and of the groom, early records take us back into the first years of the 19th century. We supplement this Civil list by adding to it a few Church records, both Protestant and Catholic, which also pertain exclusively to County Wicklow HOLLINGSWORTH families.

The entire County Wicklow Hollingsworth family are probably descended from a single ancestor, who came into the area in the early part of the 18th century. Hence, these records detail for us much information about his descendants. This family is that of the editor of the REGISTER.
