Now that we have treated the Quaker Hollingsworth families in the Newberry
County, South Carolina, area, and also sketched for you the life of 
Valentine Hollingsworth, the founder of this line, in Ireland, we feel that
we can place before you all the Hollingsworth families in the State of 
Indiana as of the Census enumeration year 1850.  This valuable information
comes to us through the cooperation of the Genealogy Dept., State Library,
Indianapolis, Indiana, where a complete index to the 1820, 1830 and 1850
enumerations is on file.  After receiving a copy of the index covering our
surname, the editor has consulted the microfilm copies of the original 
census schedules in the reading room of the Rufus B. VonKlinesmidt 
Central Library, Fifth & Flower Streets, Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.

Many of these "Hoosier" Hollingsworths were born in South Carolina, as the
schedules show.  Some even came direct from the area covered by the Bush
River Quaker Monthly Meeting just considered on previous pages.  Others
sojourned a while in the State of Ohio before pushing on to Indiana.

We will provide a full tabulation of all other statistics at the end of 
this article.  But we must note one, in particular, here.  Out of all the
families, only one of the Hollingsworths was born outside of the United
States!  This was the Joseph Hollingsworth, age 28, Engineer, born in 
England, who is listed on page 24.  The editor tried to find him again 
in the later census for Aurora, Indiana, but he was not found.
