VOLUME 14, NUMBER 3.

GEORGIA HOLLINGSWORTH FAMILIES, PART THREE
From Volumn 4, page 81, June, 1968

Can you believe that after more than a decade, some new information on the Hollingsworths of Georgia has come to light? It was with the June, 1967 issue of HR that this series really began. And it is with the Jesse Hollingsworth family, with which that issue's first article dealt, that we continue. It is quite nostalgic! Some of our readers have died, others ceased their subscriptions to Hollingsworth Register, during that long delay in information. No blame to them.

The Rev. Silas Emmett Lucas, Jr., who is Editor of The Georgia Genealogical Magazine, has also edited a number of other publications which any student of Georgia history should study. One of these is: Some Georgia County Records, Vol. 1, Being some of the Legal Records of Columbia, Hancock, Jefferson and Warren Counties, Georgia.

Some of our subscribers were, in the past decade, descendants of Jesse Hollingsworth of Jefferson County, Georgia. Your editor tried to solve Jesse's connection with the Valentine Hollingsworth family, over ten years ago. Let it be noted that we think that Jesse is a descendant of that pioneer Quaker settler, even though it cannot at present be proven.

Years ago your editor searched as much of the records of Jefferson County, Georgia, as could be found (there having been a destruction of the courthouse at one time) on film, with the results in Volume Three as noted above. The following information was not found, simply because we could not take the time to read the wills page by page. The Rev. Lucas made it possible for us to find additional information which has eluded us all these years. Here are brief abstracts of the data brought to light which show the full name of Jesse Hollingsworth's wife, and the names of his wife's sisters and mother.
