OBITUARY:

     (1) Mrs. Esther Hollingsworth Clarke, Ohio - 1969.

     MRS. CLARKE DIES; WAS TENNIS STAR. Youngstown, Ohio - Mrs. Esther Hollingsworth Clarke, 74, of 122 West Delason Ave., a tennis star here in the 1920s and secretary for Consolidated Steel Co. for 22 years, was pronounced dead at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at South Side Hospital following a heart attack at home.

     Mrs. Clarke was born June 13, 1895, in Warren (Ohio), a daughter of Ceylon E. and Bessie Sutcliffe Hollingsworth. Her father was a noted writer and artist and opened the art department of Youngstown College in 1927. She was a graduate of Rayor School and had last worked on Aug. 1.

     She leaves a son, Ralph, of New Canaan, Conn.; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Jewett of Miami, Fla., and two grandchildren.

     There are no calling or services. Arrangements were made by the Davis-Welker Funeral Home. (From a paper, sans date, submitted by ?)

 

     (2) Mrs. Hazel Turner Clay, Dekalb, Georgia - 1978.

     MRS. HAZEL CLAY. Funeral for Mrs. Hazel Turner Clay, 73, of 619 Gresham Avenue, S.E. will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Ward's Glenwood Chapel with burial in Clifton United Methodist Church cemetery. Mrs. Clay, a native of Fulton County, died Wednesday (5 Apr 1978 - Ed.). She was a member of Moreland Avenue Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Robert A. Clay; daughters Mrs. T.F. Guthrie of Stockbridge and Mrs. Eugene Elliott of Mansfield, Georgia; and two grandchildren;

     CLAY - The friends and relatives of Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. (Gus) Clay, Atlanta, Mr. and Mrs. T.F. Guthrie, Stockbridge, Mrs. Eugene Elliot, Mansfield, Lt. Paul E. Elliot; Ft. Hood, Tex., Mrs. Penelope Jones, Covington, the neices and nephews are invited to attend the funeral of Mrs. Robert A. (Hazel Turner) Clay, Friday April 7 at 2 p.m. from Ward's Glenwood Chapel, Rev. Jake O. Reed officiating. Interment, Clifton Springs Methodist Church cemetery. Pallbearers will assemble at the chapel at 1:45 p.m. Horis A. Ward. Inc. She was the daughter of Mr. Jessie Turner (sic) and Elliot P.9 Hollingsworth, the daughter (sic) of James P.8 Hollingsworth (Isaiah7, Robert6, Abraham5, George4, Abraham3, Thomas3, Thomas2, Valentine1, Henrya). Her death was due to pneumonia and complications from diabetes and Parkinson's disease.)

 

     (3) Mildred Hollingsworth, Kingston, Ontario, Canada, 1979.

     HOLLINGSWORTH, MILDRED - At Kingston General Hospital on Thursday, January 25, 1979, Mildred McIsaac, beloved wife of Richard Hollingsworth. Resting at the Funeral Residence of Gordon F. Tompkins, 49 Colborne Street (at Clergy) from Friday afternoon. Funeral Mass in St. Joseph's Church, Saturday morning at 11 o'clock. Interment St. Mary's
