John was born 11 Oct 1860 in either Estill or Jackson County.  He died 26 Sep 1943 in Madison County, KY. 

Melinda was born 09 Apr 1871 in Estill County.  She died 29 Nov 1951 in Glenwood, Rush County, IN.  She was the daughter of John "Jack" Moore and Melinda Leitha Horn.

John and Melinda were married 30 Nov 1893 in Jackson County.   She was his second wife.  John was first married to Barthena Parsons.   She died 20 Mar 1893 during childbirth of her 7th child. 

John and Melinda were the parents of 11 children:  Sarah, twins Rosa and Eliza, Barthena, Dillard, Nannie, Provie, Elisha, Solomon, Mayfra, and Lloyd.
