John Graddison Sparks Family
This good looking (and large) family is the family of John Graddison Sparks. What's amazing is everyone in this photograph except 7 people are his children. What's even more amazing is there were 6 children yet to be born. Clockwise from the left: Sarah, Minnie, Mollie, John's parents (Daniel Crawford and Louvina Carter Sparks), Elizabeth Frances (with her child Lillie), Lucinda, Willie Joe, Barthena, Mary Lou Moore (another of Elizabeth's children), Rosa, Eliza, Dillard (in his father's lap) and Nannie in Melinda Ella Moore Sparks' lap. Yet to be born were Provie, Elisha, David, Mayfra, and Lloyd. Minnie, Mollie, Elizabeth, Willie Joe and Lucinda were John's children by his first wife, Barthena Parsons. Elizabeth was married to John Alden Moore, brother to Melinda Ella. This photograph was taken about 1901
