Carl left home at age 17 to work in the city of Sölvesborg - located on the coast of the province of Bleksinge. What his work entailed, I do not know, but I remember the guy for whom he worked was named Hansson & was an SOB who treated Carl aboninably. The boy left and got employment elsewhere still in Sölvesborg. His new employer's name was Svensson and he treated Carl well. I think this man's business had to do with cigars. He may have owned a smoke shop or imported tobacco. All these things are lost in mystery circa 1907. He emigrated on 9 Jun 1910 from Torsås, Kalmar, Södra Möre, Sweden. He immigrated on 1 Oct 1910. As of 1 Oct 1910, he was also known as Carl Arthur Gustafson. He was a bookkeeper on 28 Jul 1915. He was naturalized on 25 Jan 1918 Hartford, Connecticut, U.S.A. His Social Security Number was 040-01-0486 on 25 Aug 1975 Bristol, Hartford, Connecticut, U.S.A.
