The Will of Johannes George Beck of Mt. Bethel Township, Northampton Co., PA Exhibited 9th June 1775

In the name of God, Amen. I George Beck of Mount Bethel Township in the County of Northampton & Province of Pennsylvania, Farmer, being advanced in years & Considering the uncertainty when my change shall be , Do for Peace and good Order that my Just Debts and funeral Expenses be Justly paid & satisfied and Next I Give and bequeath Anne Mary my Dear& beloved Wife the sum of one Hundred Pounds Pennsylvania Currency to be raised & paid to her by my Executors out of my real & Personal Estate on a year's time at furthest after my Decease, or sooner if Assets come to their hands or the Ma?? be sold, and further I give immediately after my Decease to my dear wife her choice of one cow out of the stock &either fodder on the place to keep her; or Twenty Shillings a year in lieu thereof, so long my Wife shall live, which she shall choose. To have said money secured by Bond, for the true payment thereof. And further I give here our Bed & bedstead with the over BED, Blankets, Bolsters, Pillows & Sheets & all the appurtenances the best in the House; &one Chest & all her weaving Apparell & one Iron pot which she shall choose & also a spinning Wheel & Eight Bushells of Wheat all which shall be delivered immediately after my Debt are paid, As her part and share. Next I give to my son George Beck the sum of ten Pounds, and I also give to my son Jacob Beck the like sum of ten Pounds Current Money. And After the above mentioned Legacies are Paid & Done Then I do hereby Order that all the residue & remainder of my real & Personal Estate be Justly & Equally Divided between my seven Children, to Wit George, Jacob, Anne Mary, Elizabeth, Barbara . Margaret and Christina. And O do hereby Nominate, Constitute, Ordain & Appoint my Dear Son Jacob Beck and my trusty Friend Baltazar Sheahly sole Executors of this my last Will & Testament. And Do hereby. With Good Consideration, Mind, & Memory, utterly disallow, Revoke & Disanull all former Wills, Legacies, Testaments and Executors heretofore by me made or Appointed, And I do validly Confirm and Ordain this & no other to be my last Will & Testament in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal this twentieth day of August one Thousand seven hundred & seventy-two.

Signed, Sealed, Pronounced, Published & Declared by the testator to be & for his last Will & Testament in the presence of us who at his own Request subscribe out names as Witness hereunto.

1. JOHANNES GEORGE2 BECK (ULRICH 1) was born 14 May 1705 in Germany, and died 11 May 1775 in Upper Mt. Bethel, Northhampton co., PA. He married ANNA MARIA GUCKER 1729, daughter of HIERONYMUS GUCKER and AGNES VOGEL.
