1850-1855 1859-1865- Organization of the church in 1850-1855. The church house was not completed until 1863. In the meantime they held occasional services and organizational meetings without any specific regularity in various schoolhouses and occasionally in homes. The Pleasant Grove, Spring Run and Louisa Center schoolhouses were used during those early years.

March 13	Regular Church Meeting Preaching. On motion resolved to meet at the house of the M.M. Carson April 16th to arrange for building a house of worship. On motion adjourned to that day's place. M.M. Carson ch clk
April 16th, 1858	Columbus City Louisa Co., Iowa April 16, 1858 the Regular Baptist Church in session as per in adjournment. The following resolutions were adopted. 1. Resolved that we build a house for worship in the town of Columbus City, Louisa Co., Iowa 2. Resolved that the dimensions of said house shall be 30 ft wide by 40 ft. long one story 14 ft. in the clear. walls 13 inches in thickness with a good and sufficient stone foundations. 3.Resolved that John Burgess, Jowell Brownson, and W.R. Woodruff be a committee to solicit a loan of $500 and also to obtain individual subscriptions of money for building said housw of worship. Form of subscription to be used by above comm. We the undersigned agree to pay the sum s opposite our names to the Treasurer of the First Regular Baptist Church of Columbus City, Louisa County, Iowa for the purpose of creating a house of worship for said denomination in Columbus City. Said house to be of size and material as per church records of said church further plans & specifications to be as Trustees of said contract to be let to the the lowest & best bidder. Adj. M.M. May	Regular Church Meeting Preaching. Minutes of the meeting held at M.M. Carsons April 16, 1858 to read considered and unanamously approved on motion. Benjamin Jennings was added to the Soliciting Committee.
June 12	Regular Church Meeting Preaching W.R. Woodruff appointed to write the association and W.R. Woodruff, Henry Jennings, Joseph Mickey, James Woodruff and M.M. Carson were appointed delegates to Association. Adj. M.M.C. Ch Clk.
