Some sources have Jane Chandler marrying Richard Archer after Robert Jeffries death in 1745. This is not possible since Jane preceeded her husband in death in 1726. Robert Jeffries died 13 yrs later on 4 April 1739.

Notes for WILLIAM JEFFERIS:
William Jefferis was disowned by the Quakers who did not believe in wars and violence, on February 6, 1782 for "mustering with the militia". In "Revolutionary Soldiers from Pennsylvania" William Jefferis is listed as a member of the Third Battalion of the Chester County, Pa. militia, commanded by Lieut. Col. John Hannum (1781) and of Capt. Peter Strode's 5th Company from East Bradford, Pa.
In a codicil to his will dated July 16, 1847, William Jefferis disinherited his son Mifflin. Whether it was the fact that Mifflin was the son of his first wife or he had fallen in disfavor with his father is not known. Generally the will favored the children of his second wife.

Interview notes from elderly relative: Mifflin Jefferies was nearsighted. He was a Quaker who insisted on the use of "Thee" and "thou". He ran a distillery in Pennsylvania and brought the copper kettles from the distillery when they moved to Iowa in 1854. He had a vineyard near the cemetery in Columbus City and sent his grape juice to the winery after the grapes were pressed.
The Marriage certificate for Mifflin has his name spelled "Jefferis". However, his tombstone in the Spring Run Cemetery has the name spelled "Jefferies"

Postmistress at Montrose, Iowa during the Civil War. Along with her regular duties, she read daily dispatches to the interested neighbors who gathered at the post office. She taught school for one term at Campbell, Iowa before her marriage to Taylor. She and Taylor moved to a farm southwest of Van Meter, later known in 1938 as the A.C. Smith farm.
