GENERAL AFFIDAVIT
======
State of Iowa, County of Cedar, ss:
In the matter of claim of David S. Hepner
ON THIS 24th day of May A. D. 1893, personally appeared before me a Notary Public in and for the aforesaid County duly authorized to administer oaths, R. R. Leech[,] aged 41 years, a resident of Tipton in the County of Cedar and State of Iowa[,] whose Post Office address is Tipton Iowa [and] Richard K. Shepherd[,] aged 49 years, a resident of Tipton in the County of Cedar and State of Iowa[,] whose Post Office address is Tipton Iowa[,] well known to me to be reputable and entitled to credit, and who, being duly sworn, declared in relation to aforesaid case as follows:
Note:-Affiants should state how they gain knowledge of the facts to which they testify.
We have known the above named claimant for 5 and 10 years, and from such acquaintance know him to be a man of good and temperate habits, and from such knowledge believe that none of his disabilities are the result of viscious habits. That during the time we have known him he has been a constant sufferer from Chronic diarrhoea and weak eyes. We know this from our personal observation and his complaints; his appearance leading us to believe him far from being a well man. That by reason of his said disabilities, chronic diarrhoea and weak eyes he has been so disabled that he could do little, if any, hard work though able to do light work.
We further declare that we have no interest in said case and are not concerned in its prosecution.
