On This Sixth day of November A.D. 1850 one thousand and Eight hundred and fifty Personally appeared before me John C. Sivey Clerk of the Wabash Circuit Court within and for the county and State aforesaid[,] Matthias Hepner[,] Aged fifty Eight years[,] a resident of Noble Township Wabash County and State of Indiana[,] who being duly Sworn according to the law declares that he is the identical Matthias Hepner who was a Musician in the Company of Captain Benjamin K Pierce Third Regiment of Artillery and Served as Such about fourteen months and then resigned that Station on account of Health and Shouldered his musket and acted & Served in the capacity of a Private the remainder of his time as his discharge herewith will Show in the War with Great Britain declared by the United States on the 18th day of June AD 1812[;] that he enlisted at the county of Salem in the State of New Jersey, and was discharged at Sackets harbor in the State of New York, as his discharge will more fully Show. And that he is the identical Matthias Hepner who received the annexed discharge as will be Shown from the Muster Roll of Said Company.
He makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the Bounty land to which he may be Entitled under the "Act of Congress granting bounty lands to Certain Officers & Soldiers who have been Engaged in the Military Services of the United States Passed Sept. 28th 18/50.

Sworn & Subscribed before me the day and year above written. And I do hereby certify that I believe the Said Matthias Hepner is the identical man who Served as aforesaid and that he is the age above Stated.
In Witness whereof I John C. Sivey Clerk as aforesaid have hereunto Set my hand and affixed the Seal of said Court at Wabash this 6th day of November A.D. 1850.
