[NI6659] Obit: Vernon F. Bastin, 74, of 1492 E. Lawndale, Shelbyville, IN, died at 1:20 a.m. at Major Hospital, Shelbyville, IN. He was born on March 18, 1919, in Shelby County, the son of Samuel M. Bastin and Ella E. (Perry) Bastin. He
Married Lillian "Mickey" Freimarck, on Dec. 9, 1945. She survives. A lifelong Shelby County resident, He worked as a serviceman, for PSI Energy for 36 Years before retiring in 1981. He was a U.S. Army Air Forces veteran, serving in World War
II. He was a member of First Baptist Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the Eagles. Survivors include his Wife, Lillian "Mickey" Bastin; a son, Jerry W. Bastin, Batesville; a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Martha) McCracker,
Shelbyville; a brother, William R. Bastin, Shelbyville, IN; and a Sister, Mrs. Stella Mae Howell, Manilla; and two Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers. Services will be thursday at 10 a.m. at the Carmony-Ewing
Broadway Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robin Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Hill Cem. Shelbyville, IN. Friends May call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be to the First Baptist

Obit: James E. Bastin, Infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Bastin, died at their home at 11:45 o'clock this morining, from influenzal pneumonia, from which he has been suffering for the past two weeks. He was born April 6, 1917, being aged one
year, six months, and twenty-five days. He had been critically ill for the past week and Mr. Bastin is just recovering from the same disease. Besides the parents, he leaves one brother, Ray and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Bastin and Mr.
and Mrs. Noah Perry. Funeral services will be held. Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the late home. Rev. Horance N. Spear, of the First Baptist Church, Officiating. Burial will Be made in forest Hill Cemetery in charge of Henderickson and
