For a long time I was puzzled by the fact that I was unable to find arecord for this family in any Ships Passanger List. Especially puzzlingwas the apparent absence of this family from the Passenger List for theShip 'Renown', that carried the family of George Conrad Drehmer'sbrother, Nikolaus Drehmer to NYC, NY, arriving on July 12, 1834.

Then I deduced from the mis-reading of 'Dramer' as "Bramer" that I hadfound in some Census Indexes, that a similar mis-reading of 'Drehmer' as"Brehmer" could have occurred during the transcription of the Ships Listfor the 'Renown'. Sure enough, that is exactly what had occurred.

He is listed on page 331 of the 1840 Census of Sparta, Livingston Co., NYas 'George C. Dramer', but Indexed as "George C. Drander". Compare JacobDrehmer, who is listed on page 331 as 'Jacob Dramer', but is Indexed as"Jacob Draner". See Notes for Nikolaus Drehmer, who is not listed in the1840 Census Index, but is on page 331 of the Census as 'Nicholas Dramer'.

His first 2 children were born in Niederlinxweiler. The others were bornin Livingston Co., NY. All of his children were from his first marriage,to Anna Sophia Kussler, who died between 1843 & 1850.
