State of North Carolina Beaufort County October 16th 1831.
Know all men by these presents, that I GREEN CARROWON, being low in health
but sound in mind able to dispose off all my worldly property as I shall
think proper- "First. I give unto my daughter Lydia a certain piece
of Land, beginning at the North east corner of Henry EVERETT"s rich
land patent north forty seven East to a stake, thence North Seventy three
West to a line of marked trees thence with that line of marked trees to
Henry EVERETT"s patent, thence to the beginning" I also give
unto my daughter ELIZABETH a piece land joining my daughter LYDIA beginning
at her North east corner running North forty seven East to a marked tree
in the said line, thence North Seventy three West to a line of marked trees,
thence with that line to LYDIA's, corner, then with her line to the beginning

"I also give unto my daughter DORCAS the piece joining my daughter
ELIZABETH beginning at her north east corner running North 47 East to a
marked tree in the line leading to head of Oyster Creek, from thence North
73 West to a line of marked trees and from thence to my daughter ELIZABETHs
corner in that line and from thence to the beginning.
"I also give unto my daughter SARAH SPAIN(?) a piece of land joining
my daughter DORCAS MACGOUND(?) beginning at her North East Corner running
from thence to where that line corners in the marsh from thence North 73
West to a line of marked trees thence with that line to my daughter DORCAS
corner in that line, thence to the beginning.
"I also give unto my three sons HENRY & JORDAN & THOMAS one
hundred & f if ty acres of land lying in the Henry EVERETT's Rich land
patent, my son HENRY to have the first fifty acres on the ridge JORDAN
the next to the south & THOMAS at the far end toward middle bay- "I
also give unto my son GREEN a piece of land beginning at Henry EVERETS
North West corner in my ditch running to my daughter LYDIAs to a line of
marked trees running down that line 'til a paralell course with the said
Henry EVERET's line will go to a marked bay on the ditch near the end of
my field and so to the beginning.
"I also give unto my daughter POLLY a piece of land beginning at my
son GREENs North east corner in a line of marked trees that leads to the
head of a gut where my ditch leads into running north seventy three West
thirty pole, then parallell with that line of marked,trees Eighty pole,
then from thence South seventy three east to the line of marked trees,
thence to the beginning. I also give unto my daughters AGNES & LIDDY
& NANCY & the CHILD that my wife is now with a piece of land beginning
at a small

ditch running through my field near the head of the road that leads from
Goose Creek running South Seventy three East to a line of Marked trees
& with that line of marked trees to the head of the gut that my ditch
leads into and so round with the water of the Ovster Creek to where my
line crosses the landing Creek, then South twenty East to a post in the
marsh, then the various courses to the beginning
I also give unto my Beloved Wife the plantation where I now live including
the lands between my son GREEN's above and the land below that I gave to
my youngest daughter with provision made with my Wife in her dower for
her father and mother during their natural lives for a maintainance.
I also give unto my son WILLIAM one of my large Mahogany Tables and one
Ewe and Lamb.
I also leave one piece of land in Hyde County near the turnpike to be sold
for to pay debts & also another piece lying on double ditch Creek joining
---- Ridge to be sold & as much of the perishable property as will
discharge all lawful debts and if there is not enough take of the rent
of the third ten thousand above belonging to my youngest daughter till
the debts is paid and the rest of the income of that ten thousand to school
my sons on as far as to do their own business and also my daughters as
far as to read well - and all the rest of my property within & without
and my children to belong to my wife during her natural life and when she
dies then to be equally divided among all my children -
"I also give unto my RICHARD all the land that lies between my son
GREEN & my youngest daughters including the plantation that I have
given to my wife for a dower -
And I leave my beloved Father Henry CARROW & Lodewick REDDITT my whole
Executors to this my last Will and testament and I do empower him to sell
either publicity or privately which he shall think proper or rent out lands
the same way. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hands and Seal
this day & year above written in presents of us attests seal

Mary (X) CARROW ) August Term 1832. The last will & testament of Green
CARROWON was brought into open Court and proved in due form of Law by the
oath of Henry CARROW Jr. a subscribing Witness thereto - And Henry CARROW
Sen'r. one uf the Ex'ers therein named came into open Court & Qualified
as Ex'or.
