George Dallas McGowen was born Jan. 15, 1870 at Cabool, Texas Co., Missouri. In 1906 he married Ella Jane Carter who was born Feb. 4, 1883 also at Cabool, a daughter of John Henry and Mary Examine (Fry) Carter. They moved to Chin, Alberta, Canada and then to Casper, Wyoming in Apr. 1917. George died of Influenza at his home two days after he came down with it, on Nov. 19, 1918. He was buried the next day in Casper, Natrona Co., WY. Ella Jane remarried on Dec. 25, 1927 to Cornelius D. Perry. He died in 1961 and Ella died on Feb. 9, 1975 and is buried in Highland Cemetery, Casper, WY.

1. Beulah Blanche McGowen, born Oct. 21, 1907 at Cabool, Texas Co., MO. She married on Apr. 11, 1926 to Harold Paul Decker in Denver, Arapahoe Co., CO. He was born on Apr. 19, 1898. He was a pilot and carried the mail. They live in Casper, Natrona Co., WY. Harold died on Feb. 10, 1982.
2. Delmar Eugene McGowen, born Feb. 16, 1914 in Cabool, Texas Co., MO. On Oct. 20, 1940 he married Margaret Janette "Margie" Nicholas. She was born on July 28, 1917 in Mason City, Nebraska, the daughter of William E. and Ethyl May (Loy) Nicholas. Delmar enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942 and served in France in World War II. Following his discharge in 1946 he returned to Casper where he went to work for Marathon Oil Co. as an accountant until his retirement in 1978. Margie died on Mar. 1, 1995 in Casper, WY and Delmar died there on June 21, 1996. Both are buried at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery.
