Othmer Clarence Mcgowen was born Nov. 29, 1893 in Texas Co., Missouri, the ninth of eleven children of Moses Allen McGowen and his wife Mary Jane "Polly" (Fox) McGowen. Othmer's wife was Olive Viola Townsend who was born Sept. 23, 1893. They had married on Nov. 24, 1922. Othmer died on Sept. 11, 1970 in Pascagoula, Jackson Co., Mississippi. Olive died on Sept. 25, 1975. They had two sons: Clarence Winslow McGowen, Sr., born Aug. 4, 1917 and Kenneth Robert McGowen, born May 28, 1920, both in Lucedale, George County, Mississippi.
