Robert Henry McGowen was born on Oct. 5, 1879, in Texas Co., Missouri. He as married in 1900 to Rosa Elizabeth Murr, born May 17, 1881. After the birth of a son in 1901, Rosa divorced Robert. Robert Henry remarried on Feb. 3, 1906, to Mary "Belle" Baney. She was born on Mar. 24, 1884, at Bado, Texas Co. Dennis Prock writes about his Great Grand Dad: "He was a soft spoken man who smoked cigars and who would walk to his mail box each day. It was about 1/2 mile down the road, a narrow path only wide enough for one vehicle at a time, with one neighbor half way in between. Robert Henry died on April 17, 1956, in Springfield, Greene Co., Missouri, and was buried at Hillcrest Cemetery in Mountain Grove. Mary died on July 19, 1957, at the home of her son Orval, and was buried at the same cemetery.

Mary Jane "Polly" (Fox) McGowen, the widow of Moses Allen McGowen, was born Feb. 7, 1853. Moses had been a farmer in Morris Township, Texas Co., Missouri, had died on July 5, 1917. Mary Jane "Polly" Fox, who he had married around 1876/77, was born in Jan. 7, 1859. She then lived in Golden City, Barton Co., MO. She died on Aug. 5, 1947 of cerebral hemorrage in a convalescent home at Eldorado Springs, Cedar Co., MO and was buried at Marshfield, Texas Co., beside her youngest son Elmer.

Nancy Ann (McGowen) Wright was born about 1878 in Morris Township, Texas Co., MO. She married a Mr. Wright (given name unknown), and they lived at Pueblo, Colorado, where they owned and operated the Diamond Motel. They were parents of Juanita (Wright) Montgomery and Gladys Wright.

Lula Jane (McGowen) Hutcheson, born on Dec. 4, 1886, was married to Albert Daniel Hutcheson on Mar. 3, 1908. Albert was a farmer and his family were members of the Fairview Pentecostal Holiness Church. He died on Nov. 12, 1962 and Lula Jane died on Mar. 7, 1976. They both were buried at Bado Cemetery, Texas Co., MO. They had the following children: Beulah Pearl, Albert Earl and Elmer James Hutcheson.
