Salina Evaline McGowan, the daughter of Hosea & Nancy (Liscomb) McGowan, was born Feb. 14, 1846. She married Matthew Joseph Hodges, son of Robert Hodges and Sally Lupton. He was born June 30, 1845. They both died at Small, near Edward, Beaufort Co., NC and are buried at the Sandy Grove Cemetery. Their children were:
1. William Hodges, b. ca. 1867.
2. Sarah F. Hodges, b. ca. 1873; d. 1928; m. Levi Jesse Hardy.
3. James B. Hodges, b. ca. 1876.
4. Ida Hodges, b. 1881; d. 1967, m. Parrott Otho Hardy.
