Leslie Alston Watson was a son of Samuel Mann Watson (1851-1903) and Annie Bedford Hooker. They were married on Jan. 19, 1879 in Beaufort County. Leslie married on Feb. 13, 1907 to Eva Dell Benson (Apr. 2, 1886 - Apr. 4, 1940) in Hyde County. She was the daughter of Thomas Ruffin Benson ((1858-1925) and Mary Graham (Mollie) Bridgman ((1857-1940). Les & Mollie died in Aurora, NC. They were parents of seven children: Archie - b. 1908, Samuel Benson (1909-1990), Bessie - b. 1911; Eleanor - b. 1912, Margaret, b. 1914, Frank Montague - b. 1918 and Walter Alston (1924-1961).
