Samuel Berryhill The Berryhill name is another name found in Pennsylvania records.

Samuel Berryhill bought land from Samuel Bigham and wife, Mary, in a deed recorded April 27, 1762. The land was described as being on the southwest branch of Sugar Creek and was originally granted to Robert McDowell in May 1754.

Samuel Berryhill died in 1778 leaving generations of Berryhills who remained in the Steele Creek area. His great grand-daughter Margaret Bernice Berryhill became the wife of Robert McKnight Bigham.

Other RODDEN's listed in 1810 NC Census, Mecklenburg Co, include; Jackson, Jacob, Lewis, William and Upton. These are possibly his brothers.

Assumed to be Elizabeth's brother, since he is listed living next door to her in the 1830 NC Census.

Hi! - I was looking over your site and have a small addition. In #73 David Alsip was also married to Katharine Rogers on 29/30 Aug 1857, Hancock Co., KY marriage bk. 1B pg 141. They were married at the MGU Baptist Church. I am aware of two children - Sophia Alsop b. abt 1839 and married 24 Oct 1857 in Hawesville, Hancock Co., Ky., to Nathaniel Henry Bruner, of Hawesville; and David Alsop b. Abt 1841. The Hancock Co., KY 1870 Census lists David (51) and Catherine (38).

Do you have any more information about the Alsop's? Sophia and Nathaniel Bruner were my gggrandparents.

Note for Penny Towater in 11/29/98 e-mail: While going through Whitley Co, KY Mortality Schedules from the Census Bureau, on one for 1850, I came across a "Polly Sexson", which is Polly Rogers Sexton, I'm sure. It says that she died in July, of measles. She was 45, married, born in KY. So she was born 1804-1805. If she was J. William Rogers sister she was more than 20 years older than he.

Mary was listed as Daniel's wife in the IGI file for Daniel FLOOR Jr's birth. What is Mary's maiden name? Researching three possibilities: RUMMEL, PETERS + MILLER>

Levi FLOOR's death record shows his mother as I. Peters. Can not find any other data to support this.

Her maiden name "RUMMEL" originally came from Thomas Shepard homepage: http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/s/h/e/Thomas-J-Shepard/index.html Several other FLOHR Pages also list her maiden name as RUMMEL. June FLOHR HILEMAN and Velma BRIGHT both list Mary's maiden name as "MILLER". Both are unsure. Actual dates and places for Mary are from Velma Bright.

Part of an e-mail received from Kathy Stickney on 11/26/98. See Leonard FLOHR for complete message: 4. Now for Maria Mary Rummel. I had her listed as I. Peters until I saw Mary May's listing on her database. I then changed it to Mary Rummel. Lois had her as Mary for awhile then added Rummel. There is another Flohr researcher by the name of Steve Gilland. Both Terri and I have written to him. I do not agree with all his findings but must quickly add that I am new at this and he has been at it for some time. Thus who am I to question him!!! Anyway, he is exploring the possibility of Mary being Miller too. Thought it was interesting that you also mentioned that possibility. Lois listed that Mary's death was reported by I. Rummel. I don't know who that is but find it interesting. 5. I have a woman in Mahoning County, Ohio who is copying some land deed records and probate record for me. I am going to ask her for the following items (if at all possible) too: death certificate for Daniel Flohr, Jr. (then we could see who is listed as his mother), death certificate for Mary Flohr (then we could see her full name), and land deed record of land sold to Daniel Jr. by Daniel Sr. and Mary (see her name as listed though may just be Mary). Perhaps none of these are available but if at least one of the death certificates is, we might have some help. 6. I have a wild suggestion: We know Daniel Flohr's wife was named Mary. When it is listed as Maria that is just Latin for Mary. What if we drop Maria Mary which is just Mary Mary and consider the possibility that her name was I. Mary Peters or Mary I. Peters? 7. My cousin had two interesting findings. One was that an Obediah Peters was listed with the Flohrs in the letter for the administration of the will of Daniel Flohr. We also have a copy of an obituary for Susan Peter, widow of David Peter and daughter of Jacob and Susannah Rummel, that was in our great-grandmother's Bible. Our great-grandmother was Anna Catharine Flohr Whitmyer, daughter of Daniel Flohr, Jr. We cannot determine if Susan was a friend of Catharine's or a family member. Of course her name was Peter, not Peters but the "s" could have been dropped. At least there is another possible connection of Peters with Flohrs. 8. The Rummel Rooters went round and round on Mary Rummel earlier this year. No one had any information on her parents. That is interesting and makes one really want to question her last name. Why is she such a mystery? They were married in PA. There must be church records that would record the marriage.

I'm attaching a copy of a handwritten 4-page "History of Grandfather Floor" written by Olive S. Floor Bundy, a granddaughter of Jacob and Agnes Floor. It was written by her in 1896, and mentions Peter and Sarah Rummel. I didn't realize it, but this letter is also in the gedcom file I sent you, under Notes for Jacob Floor. (I made a few corrections in the copy I'm attaching today). Hope this helps.

This is a handwritten "History of Grandfather Floor," by Olive Floor Bundy of West Farmington, OH: W. Farmington O, Feb 22nd '96 (1896) Jacob Floor was born Dec 25th 1811. His parents were Daniel Floor, + Mary Rummel, from Adams Co Penn. (Written above Daniel Floor is "60," and above Mary Rummel is "82yr8-20") His grandparents were Lenard Floor, Miss Shafer, and Peter Rummel, Sarah R. He was the 3rd child of a family of twelve children 7 brothers + 2 sisters. Peggy Shelingberger deceased, of Ind. John Floor, Newcastle Pa ("80" above John Floor), Caroline Sidner, Ind. Solomon Floor ("65" above Solomon Floor) in Unity, Ohio. Daniel Floor, Springfield O. Jesse Floor ("60" above Jesse Floor) Springfield O. Levi Floor of Cisko Ind. Mrs May Niles. Jacob Floor Berlin Two boys + two girls died in infancy and are buried near the old home in Springfield. Jacob Floor lived in Springfield until 1833-April 4th. He was married to Mary Agnes Shafer, of Wurtemberg Germany. They lived together 60+ years at which time his wife died 1884 [1894!...TJS]-Feb-26-at 2:10 oclock. They had born to them 10 children, Daniel Floor of W. Farmington. Frank Floor MD, Youngstown O. Maria Basinger, Ashtabula O. Susan Greenamyre Alliance O. Hiram Floor, died Portsmouth Va, and is buried in Berlin O. Jacob + Agnes Floor died in infancy. Buried at Berlin O. Caroline Kale deceased, Berlin O. Levi Floor M.D. New Middletown O. John Floor, M.D. Petersburg O. He has 24 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. After his marriage he lived one mile S of Petersburg O nearly 3 yr. Then to Penn where he remained more than four years, where he purchased 50 acres of land. Then he moved in Berlin [...ship] O, where he staid until 1849 on Mock Place. MARRIAGE: July 22, 1805, in Columbiana Co, OH. Marriage license received from Columbiana Co, OH. Marriage listed in Columbiana Co Marriage book at DPL. WFT Volume 10, tree 7777 lists her marriage to Conrad as July 22, 1805 in Columbiana Co., OH.

Listed in the 1850 OH Census, Columbiana Co, with husband Conrad YARIAN. Age listed at 64 in 1850, born between Sept. 18, 1785 to Sept 18, 1786. Also listed is their assumed daughter Anna YARIAN at age 20.

Listed in the 1860 OH Census, Columbiana Co, Pg 387 as head of household with her assumed son, Jonathan Yarian at age 25. Age listed at 75 in 1860, born between July 27, 1784 to July 27, 1785.

She is listed in the IGI files at the LDS library with her husband Conrad YARIAN and several of their children. Jonathan is not listed as one of their children. Her maiden name was taken from the IGI. (Confirmed by Marriage License)

DEATH: July 1, 1866, per June FLOHR HILEMAN. Received death records from Columbiana Co for period 1867 to 1890. Eve does not appear in these records. WFT Volume 10, tree 7777 lists her death as July 1, 1866 in Columbiana Co., OH.

John RUPERT + Barbara were listed as Eve's parents on WFT Volume 10, tree 7777. See e-mail message from Lynn, (dspeer@@ridgecrest.ca.us), dated 12/30/97.

The following information is from an e-mail message received on January 8, 1997 from Mike Engiles. It is a small piece of a document that was attached to the e-mail named PIC20267.PCX. "1803, 7th May, Anna Johanna RUPERT, born Thomas, June 18, 1753. Her parents were Joh. Thomas and Catharine, born Franz. She was married June 19, 1772, with the now widower Adam RUPERT. In this union she bore six children, viz: three sons and three daughters. The three sons predeceased her. The daughters are: (1) Catherine, born December 18, 1774; (2) Maria, born Sep-tember 3, 1777; (3) Elizabeth, born August 5, 1785." (Relationship to this family, if any, is unknown.)
