These names aren't in my direct line, which means that it's a blood or marriage collateral line to my Uncle Eddie (Edwin Diehl Banta, married to my dad's sister) or my late great-uncle (Elwood Maule Shupard, married to my grandmother's half-sister). That means that I'm not doing any active research on these lines, and that all the information I have was pulled directly off of WFT CDs 1 through 17, which I own, which also means I can't personally vouch for the accuracy of the information.

This looks like a marriage connection to Uncle Elwood, who's related to Abraham Lincoln (6th cousin, I think) on the pres' paternal side; your Shipleys are related to Abe on his maternal side. So you've got cousins in common, but aren't actually related by blood. I think. Anyway, here's what I've got on the Shipleys:
