He enlisted September 1, 1814 and was honorably discharged at Camp Powell Creek, Prince George County, Va. on December 1, 1814. He signed his pension papers with an X.

Mom had contractions all day on Sunday, June 14th, from 8:30 AM. They were about 15 minutes apart for most of the day. We left to go to the hospital about 12:00 AM, Monday morning and arrived at the hospital at 12:30 AM. Reese was born on Monday morning, June 15th, at 04:44 AM, 8 lbs even, 20 1/2" long.
Reese came home from the hospital with Mom + Dad on Tuesday afternoon, June 16th. We lost power about 8:00PM that night, causing Dad and Reese to miss the final game of the Stanley Cup Finals. The Red Wings won that night, wrapping up a 4 game sweep.
His first trip to the doctor's office was Friday, June 19th. He weighed 8 lbs 7 oz.
