He inherited his plantation in Anne Arundel County, MD called "Brown's Enlargement" and all lands adjoining. He gave title to Nathan T. Veatch, a tract called "Resurvey of Buckfield". This was ownded by Hezekiah Veatch who had died without a will in Montgomery County, MD. This action was taken to clear the title on 7 September 1813. (Liber R, Folio 8). Joseph Plummer paid $1090.24 for land near "Beall's Bood Will", a trct called "Mount Zion". In Calverton or Conegscheigue Manor: surveyed 13 Sep 1739 ; on back of certificate; Philemon Plummer of Prince George's Co petltlons for patent on forgoing land; Philemon Plummer, Sr., dec'd, land decended to petitioner; 22 Jul 168 (Land records BC+B537, p. 221); 6 Sept 1777; Philemon Plummer, son and heir of John Plummer, dec'd; sold to Nathan Hammond "Debutt's Delight" and of 50 acres by patent and a parcel called "Helleber Springs" containing by patent 54 acres; also a parcel called "Beatty's Range" conveyed him by Charles Beatty ca 25 Mar 1769 of 8 acres; all land in Frederick Co. (land records RP-1,p.235); Philemon and Sophia Plummer, Sr. were among the early settlers of Montgomery Co, OH, arrivng from Randolph County, NC in Nov of 1805. Philemon was likesly born n the New Market area of Federick County, MD; Philemon and Sophia appears on a tax list dated 12 Aug 1785 by Samuel Low, J.P. in Captains Clark and Gray's District, Guildord CO, NC. The first Federal Census of 1790 lists the family in Hillsborough District, Randolph CO, NC, which formed from Guildord in 1789, with self, 2 sons under sixteen and 6 females. The first record of his land is a grant for 50 acres, 24 Dec 1799 on the south fok of the Uwharrie River (92) .The following Jul 29th, he added to his holdings four tracts containing 205 acres near the first. The 1800 Census lists the household with self and wife over 45, 2 males 10-16, 4 females under 10, 1 10-16. In two sales on 28 Sep 1805, the land was sold 105 acres to Philip Fouts and 150 acres to Philemon Plummer Jr. (93} This latter man has not been identified, but appears not to be Philemon and Sophia's son.; With the transactions completed they moved to Montgomery County, OH where they wintered on the vacated farm of Henry and Marian (Waymire) Yount in section 24 of Butler township whereon later the eastern half of Little York was established.(94) Apparently scouting out land during that winter, he moved the family the following sprng to the northwest quarter section 13 of Butler township, receiving a patent 15 Oct 1806.
