From Lockard's History of Norton Co KS (1894):
Eliza Wright began teaching in 1880. She taught four terms in this
county, was for a time assistant post mistress under her uncle, JH
Simmons.
She was married to George J. McDaniels March 24, 1884. They moved
away from this country in 1887. He was employed as teacher for three
years in Kirkville, MO; after that he conducted a private school at
Moberly, MO; but is now on a farm in Douglas Co, MO. They have four
children. Letter from Mother to brother Josh June 9, 1897:
Dear Son, With a sad heart I have to announce the death of your dear
sister the day before yesterday. ...She wanted to be taken to Norton to
be buried, but George told her he would lay her near her home, and if he
moved away he would take her with him. We will keep the children...
