Upon arriving at what is now Fields, Louisianna, the Hyatt's labored longhours to build cabins and clear land for farming. The two oldest sons had probably married; prior to arriving at Fields. Elias, Archie, Doc and Jasper became members of the Confederate Army. The census of 1870 shows Samuel and Elizabeth to be living alone, thier youngest son, John, having married in approximately 1869. Not many years later, they gave up house-keeping, and lived with their children. They were living with John's family at the time of Samuel's death. Elizabeth was staying with Doc at the time of her passing. Both are buried in the Hyatt Cemetary along with most of their children. Tombstone gives death date for Samuel as 1898. The wagon carrying his body to cemetary crossed Windham Creek on ice in 1899 freeze. Date's except deaths and children's marriages are from Samuel and Betty's bible as copied by Curtis Jacobs when bible was available. Elisha was in the War of 1812. His occupation was a cord-wainer. He is buried in the Jacobs Cemetary in Amite Co. Mississippi. His children, however, are buried in various cemetaries. Joseph is in the Rosebud Cemetary in Falls Co., TX, James and Martha Eliza are in Hyatt Cemetary in Beauregard Parish, LA, Mary Jane is buried in Plaiview Cemetary at Madison Co., TX, and Elisha, who fought in the Civil War is buried somewhere in Texas.spouse: Calvit, Martha (*1798 - )Note: Elisha Jacobs brought his family t Bearhead Creek, St. Landry Parish, LA October, 1838. His home site became a part of newly created Calcasieu Parish on January 1, 1840 and Beauregard Parish (county) effective January 1, 1913. After several years among people who did not need or could not afford his leather products, Elisha decided to return to Amite County, Miss. His wife refused to leaveher people who lived a few miles up the creek. He left his wife and their five small children and returned to the site of thier first home accompanied by his son Benjamin Elijah, who was born to his earlier marriage.

Frank Johnson was a railroad conductor for the Atacin Topeka + Sante Fe railroad in Kansas.
The History of Waverly, NY. by Capt. Charles L. Albertson states as such "Dr. Parmenus Johnson studied medicine and commenced practice in Corning, NY. in 1840, where he remained until 1846, then he went to Penn., coming to Waverly NY. in 1862 where he remained until his death." History of Waverly, NY. page 231. Hanford's Athens, Sayre and Waverly Directory 1897 Published by George Hanford 112 Lake St. Elmira, NY. states that Dr. Parmenas Johnson's address was 426 Pennsylvania Ave. Waverly, NY. The house remains today with a carriage step made of stone in the front of the house. The Corning Daily Journal reads " Dr. P.A. Johnson, age 93 years died yesterday at his home in Waverly.
