The Second of Culross Page

Culross Township is in Bruce County, Ontario about 200 km northwest of Toronto. It was settled after a land sale in 1854.

People of Scots origin formed the largest group in Culross but there was a large German-speaking (Alsatian and German) population and some Irish.

This page documents the history of a number of families, mostly Irish and Scottish in origin and mostly Roman Catholic, who settled in Culross Township, Bruce County in the 1850s.

In the southeast corner of the township was the Irish Settlement which was made up of people mostly from County Mayo. In the southwest corner was the Scotch settlement
