February 25, 2009	Just created cool feature on Family Reunion on the web, Professions that show map of location cities.  Take a look.
November 21, 2008	Because of the indications that Joseph Koberstein died after 1947 in the book "Koberstein Genealogie".  I visited the Columbia, Pennsylvania county court house in Bloomsburg.  They only have birth records from 1893-1905, no Koberstein's (possible descendants for Joseph) were found.  All vital records after 1905 are private and held by Pennsylvania  Department of Vital Records as told to me at state facility in Scranton, PA room 112, 100 Lackawanna Ave.  The death records prior to 1905, I was told at Bloomsburg, are held by the Columbia county historical society.  I searched their web site and got no Koberstein records.  Bloomsburg office staff indicated that earlier records would be keep at churchs, other places, or not at all.
November 15, 2008	Added new information about Koberstein WWII U.S. Army enlistment records.
November 14, 2008	Obtained copy of the obituary for Elford L. Koberstein from Genealogical Forum of Oregon, Inc.  The obituary didn't mention any surviving or past children for him.
November 13, 2008	Gus Koberstein and August Koberstein found in newspaper articles working in Booklyn New York.
November 10, 2008	Created better map of Koberstein's in Philadelphia Pennsylvania.
November 10, 2008	Kobersteins of Indiana active in Catholic Church.
November 10, 2008	Extended the Alfred / Alexander Koberstein line by parents (John and Paulina Berstoltz) from marriage record for Alfred in Michigan.
November 10, 2008	Return to Gaston Good Ol' Day parade.
November 9, 2008	Found patent issued to George J. Koberstein.  Also found a claim for George J. Koberstein on the U.S. general accounting office, maybe a military claim.
November 9, 2008	Found a M. Koberstein managing the hotel "The Nordhouse" in Napanoch, Ulster county, New York.
November 8, 2008	Discovered a new source of genealogical information with Passport Applications on Ancestry.com.  There are five Koberstein listings so far.  Two (Charles and Joseph) are from New Jersey and are part of the Matys family line (family of author of Koberstein Genealogie book).  The exciting thing about these records is they give their birthplace in Germany as Grevenbroich. This also links to the 1900 U.S. Federal Census which adds one descendant genreation with Charles children (Charles and Joseph).  The Matys PAF indicates Joseph died in Cloverton, Columbia, Pennsylvania which is now a lead to find more descendants.  Two (George and Ludwig) are from Columbia county, Wisconsin and are from the Karl Oregon line.  One (Frank Henry) is from the Henry NY line in Broklyn NY.
November 5, 2008	Found photos and new information on Eva Marie Koberstein, with photos and Social security death index.
November 4, 2008	Internet record of donation to "Helping Hands Of St. Louis" in the name of Paul Koberstein.
November 3, 2008	Jerad and Alex Koberstein post birth of son Levi Koberstein to their Blog.
November 2, 2008	George Koberstein listed as guest at St. Charles hotel in Oregon.  George Koberstein listed as stock holder along with other individuals and railroad being sued.
November 1, 2008	Found the announcement of the Marriage liciense for George J. Koberstein and Alice Lentz in Philadelphia, PA.  This refutes previous information on his wife and adds credance to the listing of Margaret Walker as his sister (although listed as sister in law in the 1920 census) and her husband John Walker (correctly listed as brother in law).  Margarit in my database (husband Ivan Usko) also listed in the 1920 census must be a sister.
November 1, 2008	Marie Koberstein wins essay contest against smoking. (6/25/1922)
November 1, 2008	Karl Koberstein awarded citizenship (12/18/1910).  Karl Koberstein sells lot with additions.  This must be the father Karl Koberstein to have property to sell, his son Henry Karl would have been only 6 years old (11/14/1914).  Karl Koberstein, the son, wins typing conest at the age of 12, (3/26/1920).  Karl Koberstein graduates from business school, at the age of  14 (6/4/1922).   Karl Koberstein safe deposit box. (1/8/1952).
November 1, 2008	Katherine, daughter of  Adam and Ann Koberstein died May 29, 1918 at age 18.  Date: 1918-06-01; Paper: Philadelphia Inquirer, Page 14
November 1, 2008	Announcement of birth of son to Karl Koberstein.  This son would be Henry Karl Koberstein born April 26, 1908.
November 1, 2008	Paul Koberstein injured at the Cannstatter. Two German Journalists Injured by the Fall of a Shed, Date: 1882-08-31;
October 31, 2008	August Koberstein of Nebraska participates in Deaf Debate but Iowa team wins this time.  His Grandnephew, Wayne Koberstein, mentioned his deaf status in an email.  This Koberstein family is the North Dakota/Oregon line.
October 30, 2008	Mildred Koberstein daughter of Samuel Koberstien died of poisoning.
October 29, 2008	Came across a number of newspaper articles about Fred Koberstein and family from Gaston Oregon.   Fred Koberstein has real estate in Gaston Oregon for sale.  Cecil Koberstein, son of Fred Koberstein, listed in school comedy (6/18/1916).  Fred Koberstein appointed Reports for Knights of Pythias in Gaston (11/6/1921).  Appears that Fred Koberstein was elected noble grand (1/13/1922) in the Oddfellows and his wife to noble grand in the Rebeckah Lodge of Wapato.   Vera Koberstein daughter of Fred graduation from Gaston High School in Gaston, Oregon (6/3/1922).  Vera Koberstein performs at Pythian Lodge Bazaar, with mother on committee.  Vera Koberstein in play at Gaston, Oregon.  Ruth Koberstein carols in Gaston Oregon Christmas 1929.  She is the daughter of Fredrick Koberstein.
October 29, 2008	Otto Koberstein indicted in 1915.
October 29, 2008	Lawerence O. Koberstein arrested after bomb threat and extortion for $150,000 in 1974.
October 29, 2008	Gaston Lodge Installs (News Article), Date: 1922-01-22; Paper: Oregonian, Section1 Page 5. This shows that Sam, Fred, and Albert Koberstein were all living in or near Gaston, Oregon in 1922.
October 29, 2008	Found an interesting newspaper article on Krause Alias Paul Koberstein.  This relates to the item found earlier on a Paul Koberstein and listed below on December 1, 2005.
September 14, 2008	I just received a fantastic photo of George J. Koberstein with grave stone/cemetery phots of his wife Jessie Irene in Baldwin, WI.  If anyone can tell me more about this apparent military photo I would appreciate it.
November 11, 2007	Here is an evaluation of the migration patterns of the Koberstein Families in Europe.  The startling revelation is that the far eastern parts of Brandenburg, such as Sternburg and Landsburg may have been early immigrants from Heidelburg, Gronau areas.

October 28, 2007	An improved set of maps of Germany with locations for Koberstein families has been published.
October 20, 2007	Found Ohio death certificate for Christian Koberstein which gave his father as Martin Koberstein and mother as Anna Maria Fitz.  This extends this line one more generation.  Christian immigrated from Ukrane on July 12, 1922.  Since Christian was born in Sudelko, Ukraine I suspect his parents did not immigrate to the United States.  I do not have the location of Sudelko so I suspect I do not have a correct spelling.
September 23, 2007	Recent extractions of the newspaper "Walla Union Bulletin" from 1954-1968 and extracts of articles from 1966 to 1976 were found.  A biography covering these years was created for Floyd Koberstein and his son Bill.
September 23, 2007	Recently extractions of the newspaper "Deer Park Tribune" were found.  With this information a short biography of August Herman Koberstine was assembled.
September 22, 2007	Recent extractions of the newspaper "Clatskanie Journal "newspaper covering the time 1950-1953.  These articles are about Carl (Karl), George, Roy and Kasper Koberstein and form a brief biography for this short period of time.
September 22, 2007	Recently extractions of the newspaper "The Kenyon Leader" were found.  With this information an interesting biography of Edward A. Koberstein was put together.
