The Albrecht Family
My Albrecht ancestors resided in: Germany and Lehigh County, Pennsylvania
Johan Jacob Albrecht (Abt. 1695 - Bef. 1760) was born about 1695 in Germany, and died before 1760 in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. He married, in Germany, Magdalena (___) who was born about 1697 in Germany and died after 1732 in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania.
Johan Jacob Albrecht (abt 1695) and Johannes Albrecht (abt 1695) may have been brothers. They arrived in Philadelphia within a month of each other in 1732. Jacob's son Michael moved to Rowan County, North Carolina; three of Johannes' children moved to Fuilford, Orange, and Alamance Counties, North Carolina.
Johan Jacob Albrecht emigrated from Rotterdam, and arrived on the ship "Samuel" in Philadelphia in 1732. He (37) was listed with his wife Magdalena (35) and children Michael (13), Eva (9), Maria (3), and Christina (3). Maria and Christina must have been twins. Another son, John, must have been born after arrival in America.
Jacob was a witness to the will of his friend and neighbor, the immigrant, Philipp Jacob Probst, who was the father of his (Jacob's) son-in-law, Jean Michael Probst. He signed his name in old German script. Jacob's death date is not certain, but he died some time before the probate of Philipp Jacob's will, which was in 1760.
