NOTES

Bodwell LADD b. 12 Dec 1750 in Haverhill, Essex, MA, a soldier of the Revolution, m.Martha LEWIS sometime before 1799, place unknown. Their children were Mary/Polly (1799), Bodwell [Jr] (1801), Achsah (1805) and Harriet (1809). Bodwell Ladd died 15 Oct 1829 in Theresa, Jefferson, NY. His wife died 22 Oct 1812, place unknown. Bodwell Ladd's age at marriage ca. 1799 was close to 50. His wife Martha had their last known child Harriet in 1809. It would appear that Martha was a good 15 years younger than Bodwell, so she may well have been his second wife. It is not clear if Bodwell was her first husband -- he may have been.

Seeking (1) possible first wife of Bodwell Ladd, plus any children from sucha marriage; (2) ancestry of Martha Lewis; (3) place of death of Martha Lewis.

Any help much appreciated. By the way, the answers to the above questionsare not in the genealogy by Warren Ladd, as far as I can determine.
