Alfred D. Ladd, 1908 – 1988 (Obituary from an unidentified and undated local newspaper)

SOUTH ANDOVER – Alfred D. Ladd, 80, died Monday [Jan. 25, 1988] at his residence at South Andover, where he had lived most of his life.

He was born in Roxbury, Jan. 6, 1908, the son of David and Annie Donahue Ladd. He attended local schools and was a self-employed carpenter in Massachusetts and Maine until his retirement. He was a member of Calvary Congregational Church of South Andover. Mr. Ladd was married in Middleboro, Mass. on Feb. 22, 1958 to Edith Leach.

Survivors include his wife of South Andover; a sister, Thelma Touchette of Canton; and a brother, George M. Ladd of East Andover.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Meader and Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford, with Rev, Donald A. Grover officiating, Interment in the spring in Central Cemetery, Middleboro, Mass.
