Beatrice Ladd

LACONIA — Mrs. Beatrice L. Ladd, 77, of 33 Baldwin St., in Laconia died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002 at Lakes Region General Hospital.

Mrs. Ladd was born June 14, 1925, in Franklin, the daughter of Stephen and Angeline (Houle) Martel. She was a lifelong resident of the Lakes Region.

Mrs. Ladd was employed by the Laconia State School and Training Center for over 30 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Laconia VFW Auxiliary Post #1670. She enjoyed traveling and bingo, and was an ardent fan of the Boston Red Sox.

Survivors include two daughters, Darlene A. Dolloff of Gilford and Darlene M. Hough of Laconia; two stepsons, Roger Ladd of Gilford and David Ladd of Bellows Falls, Vt.; three sisters, Mary Flanagan of East Bridgewater, Mass., Theresa Martel and Lucille Corey, both of Laconia; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.

Mrs. Ladd was predeceased by her husband, Maurice S. Ladd, in January 2000, a stepdaughter, Gloria Decker, in 1997 and a stepson, Wayne S. Ladd, in 1991.

Calling hours will be held today, Sunday, Oct. 13, 2 - 4 p.m. at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 14, at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, Washington Street in Laconia; Rev. George Soberick, the church pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the family plot at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Gilford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 9 Cedarwood Drive Unit 12, Bedord, NH 03110.
