     Bertha L. LADD, 81, died 8:15 pm, Friday in Van Wert Manor Nursing Home,
following a four months illness.   
     Surviving are three sons, Mernard of Oakwood; Paul of Lima and Cleo of
Perysburg; a daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Waldeane) STEMEN of Van Wert; a
brother, Floyd MEAD of Scott; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Zella) PRICE of
Paulding and Mrs. Mildred Preston of Ohio City; two half-sisters, Mrs.
Elizabeth HEATHERMAN of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Mrs. Louise LILLIEDAHL of
Payne; ll grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
     Services were at 1 pm Monday in Alspach Funeral Home, Rev, Paul Miller
officiating, with burial in Hedges Cemetery.
    Friends may call at the funeral home from 8:30 am today until 9:30 pm
today.
