LADD, Charles Foster

     Litchfield - Charles F. LADD, 63, died Friday afternoon at the Ford
Hospital in Detroit, where he had been a patient for about two weeks.
     Mr. LADD was a retired woodworker and was last employed with the Wolfe
Lumber and Building Supplies Co. of Litchfield.  He resided at 755 Ash
Road., Litchfield.
     Mr. LADD was a member of the Franklin Lodge No. 40 F. & A.M. of
Litchfield.  He was born in Continental, Ohio on May 20, 1899 a son of
Clyde and Flora RICKERD LADD.
     On March 24, 1921 he married Clara MORAN in Ottawa, Ohio.
     Surviving Mr. LADD besides his wife is a daughter, Mrs. Ronald
(Inella) SMITH of Litchfield; and three sons, Floyd of Jonesville and
Melvin and Burton of Litchfield.
     Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Wilbur (Gladys) MICHAEL of
Flint; Mrs. Walter (Ethel) PATHE of Temperance; Mrs. Leon (Esther) GRATZ of
Hillsdale and Mrs. Verlin (Doris) BURKE of Quincy; three brothers, Arthur
of Hillsdale and Alton and Wilbur of Jonesville, and 21 Grandchildren.
     Rev. Howard E. Brooks of the Litchfield Congregational Christian
Church will officiate at the funeral services Monday afternoon at 2:30 from
the Marsh Funeral Home in Litchfield.  There  will be a visitation at the
funeral home Sunday evening from 3:30 to 9.  The Franklin Lodge No. 40 F. &
A.M. will be in charge of the graveside services at Mt. Hope Cemetery in
Litchfield.

NOTE:  Charles passed away on Dec. 28, 1962
