Charley Ladd, 75, died Sunday, September 20, 1998, at Stephens County Memorial Hospital in Breckenridge, Texas. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 22 at the Melton Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Rev. Danny Brown officiating. Burial was in the Breckenridge Cemetery directed by Melton Funeral Home.
Mr. Ladd was born October 13, 1922 in Jack County, Texas. He married Peggy Vickers on October 22, 1971 in Breckenridge. He was a longtime Breckenridge resident, a Baptist and a mechanic.
He is survived by his wife of Breckenridge; two daughter, Shirley Anderson of Breckenridge and Brenda Simpson of Wichita Falls, Texas; two sons, Gerald Ladd of Wichita Falls and Charles Ladd of Bedford, Texas; two stepdaughters, Shirley Alexander of Albany, Texas and Sharon Eddings of Blanket, Texas; two stepsons, Jerry Sanders of Graham, Texas and Mike Sanders of Bowie, Texas; three sisters, Lela Forster of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Isabell Goff and Lorene Teague both of Fort Worth, Texas; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; thirteen step-grandchildren and twelve step-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jim Caraway, Chuck Carter, Chad Anderson, Joe Bob Jackson, Mike Sanders, and Derrick Simpson.
