LADD, Mary Luella (Mrs.)

     Reading - Mrs. Mary Luella LADD, a resident of Hillsdale County most
of her life, died this morning at the age of 65 in the Coldwater Health
Center.
     Mrs. LADD lived with her son Leroy, who recently moved to Clarendon
from Reading.
     Born in Butler township Oct. 29, 1887, she was the daughter of William
R. and Charlotte L. GILLETTE ELY.  On Jan. 28, 1907, she married Leck LADD,
who preceded her in death, several years ago.
     Surviving are:  two daughters, Mrs. Leon Zella COOK, Litchfield and
Mrs. Blaine Bertha LINDSEY, of Marshall; three sons, Leroy, Clyde, and
Robert, all of the Homer vicinity; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Irms RIKER,
Litchfield, Mrs. Roy Ivs MARKHAM, Athens, and Mrs. William Blanche ROGERS,
Concord.
     Also listed as survivors are:  five brothers, Earl, Quincy; Fay, Ft.
Wayne; Charles, Jackson; Lee, Coldwater, and Clayton, Litchfield; and nine
grandchildren.
     Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 in the St.
Joseph church, Clarendon.  Burial will be in the Mt. Hope cemetery,
Litchfield.

NOTE:  Mary passed away on September 10, 1953.
