LADD, Mernard O.

     Contintntal - Mernard O. LADD, 69, route 2, died at 10:05 pm Sunday in
Veterans Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
     He was born april 20, 1913, in Grover Hill, the son of Henry H. and
Bertha L. (MEAD) LADD.  On march 27, 1947, he married Grace Irene WHITMAN
of Continental, who survives.
     A 1931 graduate of Oakwood High School, he was a veteran of World War
II, having entered the U.S. Army Air Corps on Nov. 24, 1942.  He served as
staff sergeant with the Eighth Air Force Base unit and was discharged at
Wright Patterson Air force Base on Feb. 2, 1946.
     He was employed by Grizzly Manufacturing, Paulding, for 29 years,
retirein in April 1975.  He was a licensed firefighter and watchman and a
member of Oakwood United Methodist Church.
     Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Darla L. BEISHEIM, Contintntal; a
son, Doyle, Antwerp; five grandchildren; two brothers, Paul, Lima, and
Cleo, Perrysburg; and a sister, Mrs. Raymond (Waldeane) STEMAN, Van Wert.
     Services will be at 2 PM Wednesday in Taylor Funeral Home, Oakwood,
with the Rev. Raymond Matson officiating.  Burial will be in North Mount
Zion Cemetery.
     Friends may call after 1 pm Tuesday.
